Private Parking Awareness in the Town of Louisa

Town of Louisa Public Service Announcement

The Town of Louisa is experiencing a rise in visitors, increased traffic, and higher parking demand throughout Town—especially with the growing interest in Buckingham Branch Train Excursions and other local activities. This is an exciting time for our community and an opportunity for our local businesses, so we want to ensure a smooth, positive experience for everyone.

To help manage this increased activity, property owners in the Town of Louisa are strongly encouraged to clearly mark any private parking spaces located on their property. Clear signage such as “Private Parking,” “Permit Only,” or “Towing Enforced at Owner’s Expense” is the most effective tool for:

  • Protecting access to private property
  • Reducing unauthorized parking
  • Helping visitors easily identify appropriate public parking areas

Please note: The Town of Louisa and the Louisa Police Department do not have the authority to tow vehicles from private property. Only the property owner may arrange for towing services when a violation occurs.

Your partnership in labeling clearly private parking areas will support our efforts to manage traffic flow, use public parking, maintain accessibility, and create a welcoming environment for both residents and visitors.

Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to keeping the Town of Louisa safe, accessible, and thriving.
